Elexa Dawson is a beacon for community-focused rural soul. Hailing from her Potawatomi and Cherokee country home in Oklahoma, now residing in Emporia, Kansas, Elexa is known for her work with Kansas’ folk darlings, Weda Skirts. Two solo albums, Music is Medicine and Wanderlust display her artistic prowess. Elexa’s passions for plants and live music now culminate in a land-based arts organization, Good Way Gardens. She’s been awarded fellowships with First Peoples Fund, Western Arts Alliance, and Mid-America Arts Alliance. Elexa is a Kansas touring roster artist, Music to Life juried artist, and vice president at Folk Alliance Region Midwest.
