Amy Sanders de Melo is a Colombian American artist and educator living and working in Oklahoma. As a multidisciplinary artist with both visual and hearing impairments, she strives to create ceramic vessels and installations that speak to the resiliency of the human spirit. She utilizes Braille on clay as a way of telling stories, encouraging meditation, and creating space for grieving and healing. Amy currently serves on the board of Sunny Dayz Mural Festival and is a resident artist at Red Heat Ceramics, an artist-run community studio. She has exhibited her work nationally and has been featured in several publications.
