Fortuna is a cross-disciplinary artist residency program that functions as a direct and intimate connection between artists and art communities in Omaha, Nebraska and Mexico City. We are committed to forming reciprocal interactions between artists through deep, personalized, and community-centered site-specific residencies that promote the artists’ candid engagement with community.
Allegra Hangen is a multidisciplinary artist, cultural worker, and educator who mainly works in video installations, photography, and social engagement through art. She holds an MFA in Visual Arts from UNAM in Mexico City and a BFA in Photography and Art History from Lesley University Art and Design in Boston. In 2020, she was a year-long fellow at the Union for Contemporary Arts in Omaha, NE and was a resident at The Lab Program in Mexico City in 2021. Her work has been exhibited in various galleries and film festivals throughout the United States, Mexico, Argentina, and Canada.
